When family members, friends and educators packed the auditorium to celebrate Lowcountry Acceleration Academy’s biggest graduating class yet, they were not alone.
A news crew from the Charleston ABC affiliate, WCIV-2, was also on hand to capture the festivities and conduct interviews with happy grads and family members.
“Lowcountry high schoolers celebrate graduation after transferring to innovative academy,” the station reported.
“Many of our students struggled or had dropped out of traditional schools. But they have hit the ground running here — and it’s so exciting to see them achieve their goal of a high school diploma,” Dr. Jacinta Bryant, South Carolina Director for Acceleration Academies, was quoted as saying.
